Thumbs down Yet more improper behavior by moderators

I simply made a calm post asking if "Prinicpa" Discordia acted in an appropriate manner as a moderator. He shut down a thread to which I contributed but did not have particularly strong feelings about. But it wasn't the closing of the thread that prompted my (I believe legitimate) question---it was the way in which it was shut down. The thread wasn't simply locked. The moderator decided to say that the carefully crafted posts of people who are interested in the game were "feaces" (which I assume means "feces") and that the users were pathetic.

After approximately 1/2 an hour after my question regarding the appropriateness of shutting down the thread in this manner, the thread questioning the moderators behavior was shut down as well.

This time, happily, the thread was not closed by calling the people who were contributing to it pathetic or saying their thoughts were "feaces", but it nevertheless was closed. The explanation was that the thread was not an appropriate one for that forum---but it did not tell me where I could post the thread instead.

My post was a question ("Is this appropriate behavior?") and I was legitimately looking for an answer (e.g. it was not a hypothetical question). For this reason I would like to know where questions are supposed to go if not in the question section?

I am not trying to disobey any rules here. I simply don't know where else to post a question.

If this message is in the wrong forum, then simply tell me what other GW forum to move it to and I will move it there. I am not being belligerent or refusing to follow the posting guidelines. But if questions do not belong in the questions section, then I need to be told where they DO belong so I can redo my original post in the appropriate forum.

Therefore, to the moderator who reads this message first: If this message is inappropriate to THIS forum, then simply tell me which one of the GW forums it is appropriate for and I will move it there.

Since the moderator who shut down the thread did not suggest a better forum, I am starting to feel as if they are trying to shut down the conversation not simply move it to the appropriate area. But if I am wrong, I am more than happy to move the discussion to another GW forum where people can voice their opinions.

By the way, this post is a question too. Further it is a question to which I am looking for an answer. And still further it is a question about policy. On what other public forum should I ask these questions?

Being that you have questions about how the board is being run, perhaps the site feedback section would be more appropriate.

But my question specifically concerns people using the GW threads. If it is not in a GW forum, they are unlikely to see it.

Which might be what the mods want.

Actually, he said the thread was pathetic. He never said anything about the users.

Actually, it said Site Feedback.

If you have a question about the game, post it in this forum. If you have feedback for the site, post it in Site Feedback. If you have questions about whether a particular post is appropriate or not, PM a moderator.

I'd lock this, because it doesn't belong here and is a duplicate thread, but as I'm the one being publicly "put on trial" here, I'll leave it to Sausaletus Rex or Inde, or someone else to lock it down.

We the jury (ok, just me), find the defendant,Principa Discordia, not-guilty and sentance this thread to death by close button.

I'd rather you do what you are supposed to do and lock it, don't feel the need to defend yourself against the community because the majority of us know how much of a help you are on this forum.

This guy just wants to stir up trouble, and as we have all suggested he should just private message an admin such as Inde if he is having an issue.

I agree. I think you are doing a fine job and are a great help here. Not to mention, I once read about someone who talked about throwing stones only if they were without sin...

Awww shucks. Thanks for the support guys.

In that case, this thread deserves to be locked under the charges of: -
a.) Being in the wrong forum.
b.) Being posted after the original was locked.

Any grievences can be sent to an admin via PM, as they should.
